For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 3:11
On June 9th, the concrete crew, along with our General Contractor showed up bright and early to get started on forming up for the concrete.
This time stamp was 6:46 am. Impressive and FAST guys!
Within just a few hours, the guys had gotten all the form boards for the main building done. Before they laid any boards, I went to see them get started. I sat there and watched them for a good five minutes, walking back and forth and each holding an end of the tape. Measuring, walking, measuring, marking, walking... hammering, cutting. Then I realized, THEY NEVER SPOKE! Me and Philip try to measure something together and have three different conversations, argue a little maybe, I usually drop the tape swatting mosquitos, he drags me around on the other end... But these guys were pros. Loved watching it!
By 4 pm, the plumbers came to "rough in" plumbing, the inspector came to inspect, the termite pretreat was done and the inspection for that was completed! All in a day's work!
The area that juts off the broad side is our huge front porch! The guys working asked if it was our carport:)
Philip brought pizza, I brought pasta and we enjoyed another dining-room-tableless dinner:) #tailgateswork
Brandon, our general contractor set the anchor bolts for the building and it was ready for concrete!
Jager is supervising the pour:)
and later PeePaw too! I loved hearing the play-by-play from him. Him naming the tools they were using and what would happen next:) He wanted so bad for them to break out the "whirly bird" while he was there! ha
soooo smoooooth!!
Minus this one spot:)
Hopefully this will be right under a porch swing one day!
I hated not being able to walk on it right away!
I know this is from where my bathroom will be, but THIS VIEW! It will never get old! Our porch faces West for a reason;)
The first time we walked on it! Somehow ONE OF US left all the size 13 foot prints and you couldn't have proven the other one of us was even there..... haha I guess we can wait until walls are up before he has to leave them at the door:)
NEXT UP, WALLS!
