First Dinner, First House!

I had to stay late at school one day and my family was in all different directions so Philip was bringing home supper! Sushi to-go it is!

It was too pretty to be inside, so I threw my yoga mat in his truck and we headed across the road to our land.

I never ate sushi before Philip, and he LOVES it and now so do I. It's terrible, I want it all the time.

We so enjoyed our first dinner at our own homeplace:) Notice Jager drooling:P

Then on May 25th, Momma's birthday, our HOME (read: buncha metal) arrived!

Good thing we had a road;)

PLANTING ROOTS // SPREADING ROCK

 2.25.17
Time to plant!

Our haul from the nursery. After much Googling, deliberation, and phone-in advice, we left with a Red Oak, Live Oak, lemon tree, and thornless blackberry bush.

On Fat Tuesday, Philip had a full to-do list with "plant our trees" at the end, so that we did!

Friday morning, we had a load of bottom ash dropped off as a first layer for the driveway. Doesn't it look like it should stretch for miles? Well not quite.. so more loads to come!

and the next Monday, the parish dropped off a small load of rock to cover the culvert. Guess who got to spread that!!

Fun, but I will not do this job again until Daddy gets brakes on his tractor:)
Time to plant!

We took a small break on the driveway to let things settle then on 5.19.17, Philip had an eighteen wheeler bring in gray rock to finish it all!

I'm so ready for SUMMER! It killed me to get this at school and not be there!

Jager is ALL over it! :)

Ready for spreading! I missed that part. So sadly no pictures. But it made seeing the finished product even better!

We decided on fish for supper so MeeMaw and PeePaw came out and wanted to go see it.

..and of course Jager is always up for a ride!

 A little more smoothing..

..and done! Our winding road<3

Also, in the time it took me to complete this post, we have fruit!

Our Thornless Blackberry bush.

Our lemon tree:) I can't wait for them to be ripe this Fall!

The other day, Mr. Naquin sent Daddy home with a fig tree. We picked a spot and planted!

I can't wait to see the changes to our land over the next few months. It's going to be exciting!!
